How to avoid delays on VoDSL installations

12 Jun 2009, 4:21 pm

The process of installation for VoDSL  (phone lines and data) requires many steps. However, there are a few main processes which can cause delays in the install.

- Porting of numbers and adding additional IP addresses

- Installation of phone line

- Installation of equipment

The smooth delivery of these steps insure a smooth and fast installation. There are ways that the end customer can contribute to avoid delays and in turn have their service operational sooner than expected.

- Porting of numbers and adding additional IP addresses: Direct phone lines with no associated line hunt groups or rotary systems may cause delay as these characteristics may need to be removed. Please make sure that the every information about the numbers to be ported are available to the service provider.

- Installation of phone line: Make sure that access to the Main Distribution Frame is available for the line installers. A missed appointment or denied access will cause delays.

- Installation of equipment: Same applies to line install. Access to the comms room is required.

For any further questions on how to avoid install delays, please feel free to ask one of our customer service representatives.
