Abbreviation of Integrated Services Digital Network, an international communications standard for sending voice, video, and data over digital telephone lines or normal telephone wires.

(Integrated Services Digital Network) is a digital, fixed line service providing high capacity, directly connected voice and switched data.

ISDN supports data transfer rates of 64 Kbps per channel(64,000 bits per second). Delivering true sppeds of up to 2/2meg via and ISDN 30.

There are two types of ISDN:

  • Basic Rate Interface (BRI) — consists of two 64-Kbps B-channels and one D-channel for transmitting control information.
  • Primary Rate Interface (PRI) — consists of 23 B-channels and one D-channel (U.S.) or 30 B-channels and one D-channel (Europe).

My ISDN is with Telstra and I hae the service and the pricing is very HIGH. Can you give me some pricing on ISDN 10 in three sites please?

Hi,

I currently use 6 PSTN lines & they do me fine. My question to you is. What difference will it make if i changed these lines to 3 ISDN 2’s. Is there change in call rates?, rental? etc..
