Porting phone numbers to Arrow VoDSL services
25 May 2009, 10:23 amWhen a business wish to keep their current phone numbers when changing over to Arrow VoDSL services, there are some steps that need to be addressed before transfer.
VoDSL (Voice over DSL) requires a minimum of 4 active phone numbers for the service to operate. When a business signs up for this product, they have a choice of receiving a whole set of new numbers to use or to keep their existing numbers.
Most businesses keep their numbers as it is their only identity to reach out to their customers. Numbers are listed on the internet and the phone directory. Changing to a new set of numbers may stress business operations.
Porting numbers require transferring your current numbers from your current carrier to Arrow’s own carrier. Your carrier may be the same as Arrow’s and in that case, porting will easier.
Should your current phone carrier is not the same as Arrow’s, an account number from your current carrier needs to be provided to ensure that the number can be identified by validated by both different carriers.
Retrieving the carrier account number is easy and should not be a burden should you decide to port your number to Arrow and there is a carrier mismatch.
