1. uses an encryption to make calls more secure
2. Data networking.
3. Short Messaging service.
4. Call forwarding.
5. Caller ID.
6. Call Waiting.
7. Multi-party conferencing.
GSM operates on the 900Mhz in Europe an Asia, and in the 1900Mhz in the Unites States.
The GSM network is growing very fast with wireless capabilities as well as wireless and cordless capabilities.
3rd Generation is the generic term used for next generation of mobile communications, 3G provide enhanced systems such as voice, text and data.
3G or the next G network which is what some providers called it, is developing very fast and it is the network that some people use these days.
The 3G network is also good for Video calls from some mobile handsets, it is a good idea to check with the provider.
