Standard Messagebank vs Virtual Messagebank

18 Nov 2009, 12:26 pm

Every business should have some sort of messagebank or voicemail system to ensure you never miss a call. Every call you miss is a potential customer that may call a competitor. Arrow offers our customers two types of messagebank that may be setup easily to help ensure you never miss a call.

  • Standard Messagebank – To use this type of messagebank you need to have a standard PSTN line connected with Arrow utilising the Telstra network. Once this product is added then every time the line is busy or not answered the call will automatically divert to the messagebank. A unique dial tone will alert you that there is a message waiting for you and you can then call in to receive your messages.
  • Virtual Messagebank – This is a completely separate phone number for your messagebank. This allows you to divert any of your phone lines, including your mobile, to the one mailbox. You can even give this number out so that people can call your messagebank directly to leave a message. This is also compatible with line hunt so if all of your lines are busy the call will then transfer to your messagebank.
    • In order to setup your virtual messagebank you need to add the following codes (if you have line hunt please add these codes to the prime number)
      • Call Forward Busy – dial    *24 (messagebank number) #
      • Call Forward No Answer – dial *61 (messagebank number) #
    • To access your messagebank, just call the messagebank number and dial # during the greeting

Both of these types of messagebank allow you to setup your own personalised greeting.
