There is unfortunately many reasons why an adsl connectioncan have issues establishing and maintaining a solid connection. Lets start at the phone exchange, distance is a major factor, most adsl providers will service qualify your premises with software tests to determine if you are going to be able to have a usable connection, around 5 kilometres on copper lines is when the service starts to become unrealistic.
