BlackBerry Curve 8900

There is no word yet on general availability in Australia, but reports coming in on the new BlackBerry Curve 8900 indicate another great email device from RIM.
Most of the reports make a bit of an issue about the fact the 8900 runs on the GSM network, not the faster 3G network. I would suggest these reviewers are not really BlackBerry users and are getting just a little hung up on specification tables. Sure, 3G is great for high speed internet browsing, but it is not going to make any significant difference to email delivery. Besides, the 8900 has wifi which will allow for high speed browsing at home, in the office, or any wifi hotspot, and the BlackBerry Browser does a fairly decent job of browsing on the 2G network.
Other than that, it was all good news for the 8900;a super sleek and slim body (13mm, 110g) packed with loads of features, crisp and bright screen, outstanding battery life, MP3, video and podcast player, new software that enables editing of word, excel and powerpoint files, slick new user interface from the Bold, tactile keyboard, and on and on they went. Plus the usual BlackBerry strengths, unequalled email security and functionality and a great phone too.
